Heather Rowlands, Director of our project Peacemakers, shares an update on their crowdfunder, and reflects on the work your donations will support.
On 21 September 2026, International Day of Peace, we launched a crowdfunder for schools that want to bring in one of Peacemakers’ programmes, but can’t afford the whole costs.
The crowdfunder is fairly ambitious. We are looking to raise £15,000 before the run up to Christmas, and we have started well. We’ve had wonderful generosity from people whose budgets are tight but still have a way to go before we reach our target.
Peacemakers was established, by Central England Quakers, 40 years ago. Then it was a voluntary organisation, with Quakers promoting peace in schools. It now employs expert trainers who work with highly effective programmes and resources that schools are happy and enthusiastic to use. Programmes that focus on circles of listening, using peaceful language, being heard and being peer supported to overcome conflict. Peacebuilding resources are published in a toolkit and on the internet.
Please do consider donating to the crowdfunder, and sharing this with people you know. For ease, the shortened link is tinyurl.com/yc7wm7u3
