Bournville Parish Church (St Francis) celebrates its Centenary this year – and Bournville Quaker Meeting House will be 120 years old!

To celebrate, the church is going to perform ‘the Ocean Musical’ and would like to have their pillars in the church decorated with ocean themed craft. Bournville Quakers have agreed to fill one of these pillars, and are holding crafting afternoons at the meeting house on some Thursdays and Saturdays from 2pm, including:

• Saturday 17th May;
• Thursday 12th June;
• Saturday 14th June.

There also will be a craft session in St Francis Church on Thursday 5th July.

There is a lot to do because we have agreed to fill a whole pillar! Any Friend who wants to be involved is welcome to join in, whether you can knit, sew, crochet, weave or do calligraphy or whether you might like to cut fishes and other sea creatures out of felt. It’s a chance to chat and share refreshments and get to know each other better. Contributions produced at home are also very welcome. If you are interested in singing in the musical please also contact Claire who can put you in touch with the church organisers. You’ll be very welcome to attend rehearsals and take part in it.

Musical performances and the installation of the pillar craft will take place in St Francis Church Bournville on Friday 18th July at 7pm and Saturday 19th July at 2pm. The decorated pillars will then continue to be on display to visitors.
