Restoring Relations is a small group of English Quakers, working together to help Friends better understand how to handle our differences lovingly. They have recently launched a new website to help share their work. If you are interested in finding out more, Louise Scrivens and Caroline Gibbs are facilitators in the CEQ area.
Conflict is inevitable … it’s how we handle it that matters
Handling tension and difficult conversations are challenges we all face in our personal, community and working lives.
Conflict is part of our everyday experiences: we all see the world in different ways. Our individual circumstances, opinions and viewpoints mean we do not always see things the same way, leading to disagreements and potentially damage to our relationships with others.
At a time when we are needing to have important conversations with each other on pressing and complex topics, we seek to help all Friends to embody our Peace Testimony in how we are with each other, inside and outside of Quaker spaces.
The good news is that we can all learn how to deal with our differences in a more loving, respectful way.
