Support for survivors of abuse

Content note: contains reference to childhood abuse.

Quaker Women Survivors of Childhood Sexual Abuse (QWSCSA) are a group of women survivors, meeting four times a year, providing mutual support in a safe and understanding environment.

Are you a woman survivor of childhood sexual abuse? If so, you are welcome at our QWSCSA Meeting for Worshipful Sharing.

We are here because of our lived experience, and we hope that knowing you’re not alone will help with the loneliness and isolation that we often feel.

We begin our Meeting for Worship with ten minutes silence followed by the opportunity for spoken ministry.

We ask that you share only your own experience and be present for others.

“Being in the company of women who share my experience has certainly increased my confidence. I am aware that it can be challenging and even triggering for some women, but even then, they appreciate the supportive environment.”

We all value our privacy very highly and do not share our names beyond the group.
