At Area Meeting in June Walsall Quakers made a request for visitors at their Meetings for Worship. Walsall Friends minuted:
“We are trying to reach out in our community and any support which Friends could give us would be really helpful. We are financially stable, we have a very good meeting place in St Matthew’s church centre, who are very supportive of us. We meet in a large room with a refreshment area, ensuite toilets, its own fire exit and on-site car parking. As you know, Walsall area is very large, with a population approaching 300,000, and we do feel that there is potential for a thriving meeting.”
Friends across Central England are encouraged to visit Walsall Local Meeting, who hold Meetings for Worship on Sundays 11am – 12pm at St Matthew’s Centre, WS1 3DG. If you’re new to Quakers, you will be very welcome to join as well.
At Area Meeting several ideas and suggestions were made about planning events in Walsall, and joining with Sutton Coldfield Meeting for events. Elders and Pastoral Friends Support Group will also consider how they might help.
