A blue plaque has been unveiled for Elizabeth Cadbury at Bournville Junior School. Elizabeth was part of the Quaker Cadbury family, and campaigned for the rights of women and children in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. A full story covering the unveiling and giving details of Elizabeth’s life is on the BBC News website.

Daniel Callicott, Heritage Manager at Bournville Village Trust, is quoted saying: “Dame Elizabeth was a pioneer who enriched the lives of so many women and children in the city. She blazed a trail at a time when it was incredibly difficult for women to stand up for themselves let alone others and this is reflected in the vast variety of roles she took on.”

Elizabeth Cadbury has even been covered in South Korean news on the Pressian website.
