Hear from Ecumenical Accompaniers

The Ecumenical Accompaniment Programme in Palestine and Israel (EAPPI) brings people from around the world to the West Bank to serve as human rights monitors, known as Ecumenical Accompaniers (EAs). EAs provide a protective presence for vulnerable Palestinian communities, monitor human rights violations, work with Israeli and Palestinian peace groups, and advocate for a just peace.

There are several chances coming up to hear from EAs:

Love Your Neighbour – in person

On Sat 4th October 6:30pm Selly Oak Quakers invite you, and your family and friends, to a Quaker Week event ‘Love Your Neighbour’. This will include hearing from Debby Flack of Lichfield Meeting about her time as an EA. This will be alongside food, music and conversations, children are really welcome.

The event is free and will be raising funds on the evening for EAPPI and MAP (Medical Aid for Palestinians).

EAPPI Update – online

Before that, on the 9 September 7.00pm – 8.00pm, Quakers in Britain are hosting a Zoom event for everyone who is interested in the work of EAPPI UK & Ireland during which staff will give an update on the latest developments and challenges for the EAPPI programme.

You’ll also hear from EAs who have returned from their service and find out from the fundraising team how your support and giving helps ensure this vital work can continue. Please register to attend.
