at Cotteridge Quaker Meeting House, BirminghamCotteridge Quakers, in conjunction with the CEQ Responding to Racism group, are inviting all local Friends to a showing of the 2022 Swarthmore Lecture by Helen Minnis.
In the lecture Helen spoke from her experience as a scientist and a Quaker, addressing issues of white privilege within the Quaker movement and scientific community. Woodbrooke and Helen see the lecture as part of the ongoing conversation within Britain Yearly Meeting, and Quakers worldwide, about becoming an anti-racist church and what that means.
There will be a bring and share supper from 7pm, followed by a viewing of the lecture (which lasts an hour) at 7:30.
Read more about the lecture and further context to help Friends start exploring these issues.
