CEQ Outreach & Communications Committee are trying out a new layout for the weekly newsfeed. This will include a weekly reflection alongside the usual news items. We’ve also separated out upcoming events, those that need booking in advance, and regular events that occur weekly, fortnightly or monthly. There is also more space for images.

Please continue to send your news and events to website@ceaqm.org.uk – in particular we’d love to have more personal pieces for the weekly reflection. Feedback on the new layout will also be welcome at the same email address.

What are the different sections?

This Week’s News

The ‘notices’ section of the newsfeed for anything Friends need to know about (that isn’t an event) – offers or resources Local Meetings, request for help or support with Quaker activities, vacancies for Quaker jobs, new publications relevant to Friends etc.

Reflection

A more personal or reflective ‘newsletter’ style-piece – it could be a reflection on an event, an exploration of an aspect of Quakerism, or a look back at Quaker history. An image to accompany these pieces will be especially welcome- ideally landscape and sent as a separate file (not embedded in a document). These pieces will not be particularly ‘time-sensitive’ and an archive of them will be available as an online newsletter to give a flavour of the life of our meetings and our spirituality. The committee is considering collating them into an annual printed newsletter (instead of a seasonal one).

The one-off events (or those that don’t follow a regular pattern) that are happening soonest – a reminder of the things you can join in the next couple of weeks.

Book in Advance

Early notice of one-off events a little further in the future, where booking in advance is helpful – we will try to make clear if there is a booking deadline or limited availability.
