Defence and Security Equipment International (DSEI) is one of the world’s biggest arms fairs, taking place every two years at the ExCel Centre, a massive exhibition centre in East London. It is due to return this September.
A Peace Pilgrimage from Oxford to DSEI is taking place from 1st – 8th September (arriving at the vigil below), with several CEQ Friends taking part. Pilgrims will be walking for Peace, in witness against the arms trade, in acknowledgment of our own complicity, and in hope for a more just and peaceful world.

Quaker Roots is a community of Friends building a creative, vibrant and radical Quaker response to DSEI. As Quakers we take an anti-war and pro-peace stance to action, and are compelled to take action against the violence of the global arms trade, witnessing 8th – 10th September 2025:
- Monday 8 September – Merchants of Death Walk of Witness to expose arms company HQs. Family friendly action, starting with refreshments and crafts at Westminster meeting house.
- Monday 8 September – Evening vigil for DSEI at the ExCel Centre, with QPSW and Pax Christi.
- Tuesday 9 September – No Faith in War Day on the opening day of the arms fair, alongside other faith groups.
- Wednesday 10 September – ‘Stop DSEI’ hand-in
