It has been suggested that there is a need for a place for people to congregate on Christmas Day and Boxing Day. This is either because they are lonely and on their own, or conversely, they would like to escape a noisy household. It can be a very sad and lonely time if people are without friends and relatives over the holiday period.
Barnt Green and Redditch Friends are willing to show two film starting at 15:00 on both days, if there is demand. Could Quaker Meetings please seek information as to whether this would be welcome amongst Members and Attenders? Please contact John West (details in the blue membership book).
In addition, Barnt Green and Redditch Meeting are showing a series of three comedy films about returning to the future, in the week between Christmas and New Year. Before then, they continue to host regular film showings on the third Friday of each month. Individual film showings will be listed in the newsfeed as they approach, but you can see all of the programmed dates and descriptions below:
Programme:
We are using a Church Video License. This permits us to show a very wide range of films and videos as long as we do not advertise them in advance, or charge for admission. We are only allowed to name the titles inside our building, so anyone wanting to know the titles should visit our premises. We can advise the themes of the films and the dates when we are showing them. You can treat the descriptions as a quiz – “Guess which film this is!!”
