On Saturday 27th May, Quakers are invited to join other Christians in celebration and affirmation of LGBTQ+ folks and the gift they/we are to communities of faith, spirituality and justice.
On the day there are 2 meeting points for you to arrive at, the main one will be outside Java Roastery Colmore Row at 11:30, to join the Birmingham Pride Parade.
Our second meeting point will be at the Church at Carrs Lane at 10:30. We will share a short time of prayer outside the Church at Carrs Lane before those who are marching leave at 11:15 to head to Colmore Row (Java Roastery).
A group will also be staying at Carrs Lane to distribute stickers and sweets as part of the Christians at Pride roadside team.
Once the marchers have assembled as one group at Java Roastery Colmore Row, we will head to the main Pride meeting location on Centenary Square, to leave as part of the procession at approximately 12:30.
It would be great if you could sign up if you are planning to join us so that we can estimate numbers. Though very helpful, sign up is not mandatory and you can turn up at either meeting point on the day.
Please be aware that if we have more people than our allocated number to march our LGBTQIA+ friends (and then pre-sign ups of allies) will be given priority to march. Unlimited numbers can be part of the roadside team at Carrs Lane so there will still be a way for you to participate regardless.
