The Life of our Meeting
How the Truth has prospered at Barnt Green & Redditch Meeting
- Film showings once a month, plus one about the life of George Fox shown as part of Quaker week. 24 feature films have been shown so far this year, of which two involved Quakers.
- Sharing of our spiritual journeys followed by a shared lunch once a month
- Learning sessions after Meeting for Worship once a month
- We have signed up to Discovering Quakers
- Nature art exhibition and workshop, Quaker History exhibition, talks about art (e.g. ballet, poetry and The Moon in Art)
- We hosted a talk about refugees and we made a poster for our lobby which says “Quakers Welcome Refugees”
- The Wheel of Friendship has been adopted as a way of getting to know one another within the meeting better
Children’s Meeting
There are no current facilities for children.
Room Hire:
Contact the Quaker Meeting House Management Group: 0121 236 2317 barntgreenmh@theprioryrooms.co.uk The hall has chairs that can be slotted together for concerts, etc. There are tables, a projection screen and projector stand available, but the hall does not have its own projector. The two meeting rooms are regularly used for community purposes. The kitchen is suitable for preparing hot drinks and snacks. It is not equipped to make hot meals. (Food is available daily, at nearby premises.)
Accessibility:
The Meeting House is adjacent to the park on the main shopping street, near the Tesco store. There is ramped access to the Meeting House. All floors are on the same level. There is a toilet for disabled people. An induction loop for the hard of hearing is installed in the large Meeting Room.
Getting here:
The car park can take a dozen cars and there is free parking on the streets in the area. (Please be aware that parking is restricted outside the shops.) The nearby Barnt Green station is on the Cross-City Line between Redditch and Lichfield via Birmingham. No Sunday bus services are advertised.
