Could you help facilitate a study group for our Area Meeting to explore the Ecological Crisis? CEQ are looking to nominate a member or attender to take part in this online facilitators’ course run by Woodbrooke, which will provide you with the skills and background knowledge to lead the discussion group.
Area Meetings have been invited to put forward trainee facilitators for Quaker Spiritual Insights in Responding to Ecological Crisis. Participants will be supported to run discussion groups using the materials for their local or area meeting. Training takes place online over five session between 18th April and 29th May, and Woodbrooke asks that participants:
- Are willing to run at least one study group for the Area Meeting – this could be for the whole Area Meeting or for one or more Local Meetings and could be online or in person. (Study groups can be of varying length from a single day to a series of up to 10 sessions.)
- Can attend all of the live sessions.
- Have not received facilitation training nor had significant experience in facilitation previously.
- Have an interest in or are active in responding to the climate crisis.
If you are interested in doing this course and becoming a facilitator, please contact AM Nominations clerks Janet Blann, Ruth Livermore or Claire Bowman before 1st March 2022. This will allow any nominations to go to Area Meeting ahead of the course booking deadline of 31st March.

This online course will enable you to work through a set of study materials using Quaker spiritual insights to help Friends reflect on, and discern their responses to the developing ecological crisis.
To support meetings to use the materials, we are offering this course specifically for people who would like to facilitate the use of the materials in their Area Meeting or Local Meeting. Participants will learn the basics of online and in person facilitation and get a chance to practise in small groups. There will also be the opportunity for one-to-one support during the course.
Priority will be given to those put forward by their Area Meetings.
