World Plenary Meeting of Quakers

The Friends World Committee for Consultation (FWCC) encourages fellowship and understanding among all the branches of the Religious Society of Friends. Quakers in Britain meet and share Friendship with Quakers from other Yearly Meetings via FWCC.

Every 7-8 years, FWCC hold a ‘World Plenary’ event where representatives from Yearly Meetings affiliated to FWCC come together. They are surrounded by worship and fellowship with Friends from around the world. The 2024 World Plenary Meeting (WPM) will take place 5-12 August in South Africa and online. Read more about the 2024 World Plenary Meeting.

Some Friends will join the WPM online as individuals, and others in groups. FWCC are describing groups of people joining the WPM (and the locations they are joining from) as ‘hubs’. Hubs will serve as places for three or more individual Friends to join together in person to participate in the World Plenary online from a single internet connection. If your Meeting is interested, you can find out more about what is needed to become a hub.

If you are interested in joining the WPM online as an individual, booking is open until 30th June 2024. Register via the FWCC website and choose ‘attend online’ in the options.
