New Readers Needed – Can You Help?

Talking Friends is an audio version of the weekly Quaker magazine The Friend, and other Quaker publications.

The Association of Talking Friends (ATF) is looking for new readers to record The Friend: individuals, or pairs, or small groups. It’s a very rewarding and satisfying task – you’ll get a warm glow of happiness when you successfully record and transfer the files!

The ATF provides the necessary software and microphone; you need a device with Windows OS. There is a reading rota and your turn comes around about every 6 – 8 weeks, depending on how many reading teams we have.

Recording an issue of The Friend takes between 2 and 4 hours – it’s quicker as an individual, but much more satisfying (for some of us at least!) as a team.

We will help and support with the tech set up, and how to use it – the software is a very user-friendly little programme.

Questions and enquiries welcome – contact Cathy Khurana or Nick Tulley (especially for tech questions). Email info@talkingfriends.org.uk phone numbers for Cathy & Nick are in the Membership Directory.
