Leicestershire County Council Green Plaques are awarded to people and places in and around the county, nominated and voted for by the public. They are similar to blue plaques in other places.
The shortlist for the current round of voting includes Quaker founder George Fox, who was born in the Leicestershire village of Fenny Drayton, near to Hartshill Local Meeting and part of our Area Meeting.
6 of the 12 shortlisted candidates will receive a green plaque at a relevant public site. You might like to read more about the candidates and cast a vote on the Leicestershire County Council website – voting closes on 24th October.
