Quaker Peacebuilding Network

Following the recent racist, anti-migrant and Islamophobic violence, Quakers across the country have been reaching out to local mosques and working with migrant support groups to show solidarity and to support those affected.

Quakers in Britain are launching a new ‘Quaker Peacebuilding Network’ for Quakers who are interested and active in local peacebuilding efforts in Britain and Ireland. The online meetings will provide an informal and supportive space to share experiences, difficulties and dilemmas, to identify emerging common challenges and develop ideas.

An initial meeting was held recently, and the group plans in future to meet online quarterly. Open to all Quakers in Britain active or interested in becoming active in local peacebuilding activity. This is distinctly work that helps communities to resolve differences peacefully and lay the foundations to prevent violence in its different forms.
