The Quaker Christmas Parcels Appeal for 2023 has now been launched.
Christmas can be a difficult time for families of people in prison, asylum seekers & refugees, and other vulnerable people. Quaker Christmas Parcels seeks to offer support and friendship at this time by providing food parcels.
Appeal letters are being distributed at Area Meeting on 19th September. Each local meeting will receive an envelope containing individually addressed letters to be distributed to Friends plus some spare letters. The letter is also being distributed electronically by Local Meeting correspondence clerks and can be requested from the AM office.
The Quaker Christmas Parcels Committee hopes this year to return to packing the pre-covid number of parcels (1008 up from 870) as there is so much need. This, coupled with the rising cost of goods, means that the appeal is especially important this year. Early donations before the ordering date of 23rd October are especially welcome.
You can make secure donation online, or for alternative ways to donate please see the appeal letter, or contact Mina Tilt (treasurer to the Christmas Parcels Committee): minatilt.hgq@btinternet.com
