Faiths and Factories

17/10/2020, 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Coventry Quaker Eleanor Nesbitt is presenting an online talk about ways that Coventry’s religious and industrial history interlink.  Quakers get a mention, alongside other faith groups. Tickets cost £2.50 plus a booking fee.

“From Cistercians and medieval wool production to Zoroastrians and Jaguar Land Rover, this talk shows how people of many religious backgrounds and beliefs have brought industry to Coventry and how Coventry’s factories have, in turn, attracted members of very different faith communities to the city. Stained glass, dyeing, ribbon-weaving, metal-work, cars and motor-cycles all relate to Coventry’s religious history.”
