15/02/2020, 10:00 am - 1:00 pmat The Priory Rooms, Birmingham
A CEQ Climate Emergency Action (CEQ CEA) meeting to discern how the CEQ CEA sub groups and co-clerking arrangements will work, and to explore how our Quaker faith and testimonies will underlie CEQ CEA work.
We welcome any Quakers wanting to be actively involved in one or more of the subgroups to the meeting, irrespective of whether they have been involved previously.
Area Meeting in January minuted its support for this new way of working: four sub-groups are being established with working names:
- Engaging with local authorities
- Transforming transport
- Building communities
There will also be a number of themes running across all four sub-groups, including: empowering younger people, incorporating non-violent direct action and working with others.
The agenda for the meeting on 15 February will, cover:
- Exploring the spiritual basis of the work
- Practical arrangements for now taking CEQ CEA forward
- Identifying co-clerks
- In the subgroups, planning next steps
