Area Meeting Office: arrangements for August 2021

The Area Meeting Secretary is leaving at the end of July, and after 16 years in the post there will inevitably be some hiccups in the transition. Alison Ironside (Area Meeting Clerk) James Bradbury (Treasurer to Trustees) and Judith Jenner (Clerk to Trustees) will be managing this initially to ensure that the post, emails and phone calls are responded to.

Friends in local meetings and clerks to CEQ committees can continue to make their requests for office services in their usual way and Friends will be supported as before via the office phone number or email address. The office hours in August will be Tuesday and Wednesday 10 -3pm.

Trustees have a Service Agreement in place with the Priory Rooms team to support the building work and lettings for the four properties in the Meeting House Management Group. This agreement is working well. Trustees have discussed with Andrew Callan the possibility of extending this agreement to include administrative support for the Area Meeting office in this transition so that we can keep the office running from the beginning of August when there is no area meeting secretary in post.

This arrangement will benefit the Priory Rooms’ business following many months when they were unable to trade and offer their office staff the opportunity to work rather than be furloughed.

The phone number and email contacts remain the same as before. When the plans are in place there will be further information.
