Talk on Quakers & Refugees in the 30s & 40s

27/09/2018, 7:45 pm

at Woodbrooke Quaker Study Centre, Selly Oak, Birmingham

The Council of Christians & Jews (Birmingham branch) invite you to this talk by Sian Roberts:

International friendship in action: Birmingham Quakers and aid to refugees in the 1930s and 1940s

Sian is a lecturer in Education and Social Justice at the University of Birmingham, and her research focuses on Quaker women active in education and humanitarian aid in the first half of the twentieth century.

Everyone is welcome to meetings of Birmingham CCJ. We meet about once a month for a wide variety of talks and other events through which we hope to build bridges and friendships between the Jewish and Christian communities, and to learn about one another’s faith traditions.

We suggest a donation of £3, to cover our costs.
