Travel to South India to: learn about socio-economic injustice and how a non-violent approach might raise awareness; and join in a global walk for justice.
Quakers from Central England are working with Ekta Parishad (India) to offer 5 young adults (aged 18 – 30 years) from the UK, the opportunity to participate in a 12 day nonviolent training programme in South India from October 23rd – November 3rd 2018.
The training will take place at CESCI (Centre for Socio-Cultural Interaction) near Madurai in Tamil Nadu and flights and travel will take a minimum of 24 hours at both ends of the training. The training will cost £440 and additional flights, travel, visas will cost approximately £860. Quaker South Asia Interest Group hope to support young adults to fund-raise to cover these costs. The young adults do not need to be Quakers – but need to be sympathetic to non-violent approaches to campaigning.
