Volunteer at Yearly Meeting Gathering

Yearly Meeting is when Quakers in Britain come together to worship, make decisions and spend time as a community.  Yearly Meeting Gathering 2017 will be held from 29 July—5 August at the University of Warwick, on the outskirts of Coventry.  Britain Yearly Meeting look forward to joining local Friends, to share our work and witness.

Many Friends volunteer their time and energy to enable Yearly Meeting Gathering to happen: could you give service this year?

Friends are needed to support with any of the following:

  • stuffing bags on Friday afternoon from 2pm (Could offer an hour or so?)
  • supporting with the information desk especially on Saturday afternoon, Sunday or Monday
  • welcoming people to their accommodation blocks on Saturday afternoo
  • welcoming and supporting Friends at Coventry train station on Saturday afternoo
  • providing musical entertainment as people wait to register on Saturday afternoon
  • providing friendly support as people wait to register (possibly in the Woodbrooke tent) on Saturday afternoon
  • acting as campus guides for the first few days

If you can offer any of these (even for an hour or two) please complete the online volunteer form, or contact Heather Rowlands: heather.rowlands@outlook.com or 0121 459 5508.

Any help will be very gladly received!

The programme of Yearly Meeting sessions, the events in the lunchtimes, afternoons and evenings is now available.   It is still possible to book as a day visitor and there are special offers for those coming for 3 days or for the full week as a day visitor.
